It's Been a Long Time...

It's been quite a while since I updated my blog (thank you, de Ann, for nudging me along)...It's not that I haven't felt God's presence lately, not that He isn't actively at work in and around me, not that His guiding arm hasn't been felt...it's that I haven't taken the time to acknowledge Him. Oh, I recognize His activity and send off a quick "thank you" or feel a moment of gratitude. But I don't sit with Him and meditate on His goodness and wisdom.

As I recognized this pattern over the last few months, I remembered God's word in Proverbs 3:6..."in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight". As I think about that scripture, I believe God is calling me to think deeply about Him, not to reflect superficially and then move on with my life unchanged and unaffected by my encounter with Him. Clearly, God is calling us to a different, deeper walk in His presence. Then, all of the details of our life can take their rightful place...following God's direction for our lives, not leading and consuming our focus. I pray that I am ready to move this from words on my blog into action!

Yay! A post!!! :0) Love your processing here - life can sweep you up and we buzz right past God, shouting "hello there" as we go by. At least that is how it feels to me sometimes. Oh if we only greet Him wholeheartedly first thing each day and ask Him where we need to go - (the paths will be made straight) I'd be better grounded. But then life sweeps you up again... it's a struggle and a balance must be found...and honestly, I'm still looking for it. :0) Glad He is a patient Father.
thanks Diane!!!
love,
deAnn

I kept checking your blog every few days - I knew there would be something there one day!

That is an awesome challenge - to really think about God, to be in the moment, to be changed by Him. I know if you pursue that challenge with your whole heart, you will be rewarded in ways you never even imagined!!!
